FSE power boost valve??

dont bother. you will not see a performance increase at all. not even a bit :o) HTH

pro tiniting is worth while if you want it to look professional.

where are you based? these some really good companies in the midlands area I can put you in touch with. Theres no need to pay more than 40-50 per window.

just to give you some background one of my past cars, thats was significantly more powerfull that yours, had a FSE valve on it.

Exactly the same rolling road result with it on and not on.

total garbage. Dont beleive manufacturers power gains on things like this. They lie. I dont know one person who has gained power from a boost valve.

Could someone translate that, please, I don't speak chav.

what he means is...

he's buying a box for around 90 pounds that contains a magical item that gives you around a 10Bhp increase on fuel injected cars. It does this in the same way the a pipercross induction kit gives you 10Bhp.

He also want to know if he can tint his windows himslef or if he should "pay a man"

HTH :o)

'I own a Corsa' Nothing else required.

Boost valve will do actual nothing to your performance. Save your cash. Window tints, pay a man, unless you've done it before, its easy to muck up. About £200 probly, but will look better :)

They can and do improve some early EFI systems like the one fitted to the Rover Vitesse etc, which has a tendency to run weak.

Otherwise, you're right.

Hello,

The same would probably go for add-on air filters, induction kits (that suck hot air from around the engine decreasing efficiency) and those things called Ecotek valves, or resistors bought from a popular auction site. When I was younger I bought the lot believeing manufacturers claims. I went from a quiet car to one that sounded like a helicopter. A total waste of money as they did nothing apart from making the car sound louder and it must have looked silly. It shows that good marketing and advertising makes some people a fortune. They have targetted young inexperienced male drivers and are laughing now. No doubt many boy racers or cruisers will tell you that all their modifications make the car go fast, but they don't. The best advice is to not even attempt to waste money on a 1.2 engine, if you need a faster car - just save all your money and buy one with a bigger engine. Most cars will leave a boy racer one standing anyway - the reason most people let boy racers crawl past is because the people in the thunderous sounding Nova or Corsa are often idiots showing off to friends. They have absolutely no road sense, common sense or driving skill. The other interesting thing is the other bits of plastic or numerous stickers they have slapped on the car. It's usually a phase people go through, and fortunately most grow out of it. For those that want to see some horrific things done to cars, go to

and look on the galler and forum.

It could have been far worse as in " I own a Nova". All these boy racers seem to have a 1.2. God knows what they would think of a car with a bigger engine. I'm glad that insurers price them off the road.

nothing wrong with corsa's per say. They are a perfectly resonable runabout.

It's when people expect them to go fast/rounde corners well where the problems arise.

You might as well do the tints yourself.

Cue another Chavmobile with bubbles and tint peeling off at the edges.

My missus makes vinyl signs all day long and the technique is the same as required for putting window tint film on but on a friends car, she couldn't get the stuff to go on properly. Basically the stuff you can buy at your local B.O.B.R shop is fecking crap.

agreed. professional tints are worth the money. I had minne done to hide screens etc in the car and thye looked and still do look spot on. it's hard to get right yourself and it wont last.

I wouldn't bother TBH, they are just a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Unless you've done something silly to the engine, including a full remap, and bigger injectors, your standard FPR will cope.

The only definate time a Powerboost valve will help is on early turbo cars with basic EFI. When you up the injector size and boost, you can find you need more fuel pressure beyond what the standard regulator can handle, even if the stock pump can flow enough. Then you need to think about a an RRFPR, but the FSE ones have a particularly bad rep for going out of adjustment. Malpasi are a little better, and Weber do what they are supposed to do, but cost more. Sard make a universal one, that is supposed to be shit hot when you need serious constant fuel pressure, and have done everything else.

not in all cases. I got nothing out of one one a fiesta RST with chip, bigger injectors and 5PSI more boost that standard.

You;ve just explained why an FSE didnt work! With correct chip and matching injectors fuel delivery will be spot on (or should be) with the stock fuel pressure.
