Aluminum intake manifold...

Does anyone know who makes an aftermarket aluminum intake manifold for a 96 mustang GT? If I'm going to fix this problem, I want to do it right the first time!

Thanks!!!!

Ford's SVO intake, the Bullitt intake (if you swap the heads), and a high priced racing intake that would probably hurt you more than help (Reichard Racing) are your only options. If your coolant crossover cracked, Ford has a new plastic manifold with an aluminum crossover that is available in a kit. List on the kit is ~$400 (manifold, alt bracket, and a few other things I can't remember), but with a little shopping around online you should be able to find it for ~$300.

My intake manifold was $270 with tax. Plastic w/ some sort of metal thermostat housing.

I just swapped mine. The Ford replacement kit has a aluminum crossover and plastic intake, and was $267 from my Autoway Ford dealer. It took me about

3.5 hours to swap it, with airtools and a good shop. I would have liked to have had an all metal one, but the replacement looks ok...as long as it doesn't crack again.

Shame on Ford for not making this a real recall.

Yeah, thanks Drew. They did the "recall" work on it before I bought the car. It's just the threads on the fitiing, and the threads on the manifold where the fitting goes into the intake looked crossthreaded.

Shame on them for taking the cheap way out and not making an aluminum intake.

Although a little pricing here's an aluminum manifold:

BTW, I should mention that it comes with a supercharger as standard equipment. ;)
