Maybe you guy's can help me out. The seatbelt latch on our Taurus doesn't always latch, so I took the car to the dealer this morning. The factory warranty is expired. They said the latch needs replaced (duh) but it isn't covered by the safety equipment warranty. The seatbelt is, but the latch isn't. Doesn't make sense to me. What good is a seatbelt without the latch? Anyway, does anyone know where I can get information about the federally mandated safety equipment warranty? I want to check it out myself.
