ABS problem 406 V6 saloon MY97

No ABS light on firing it up or at any time.

ABS works fine for the first five minutes or so after starting the engine.

After that until the engine is restarted basically the ABS does not work and the wheels lock up. Turning the engine off then on and it works again.

Wonder if someone has disconnected an ABS light?

Any info on reading ABS fault codes?

I found the fault code list, but no way of reading the fault codes.

Originally I thought it was a sensor problem (since it appeared intermittent), so removed/checked/cleaned etc all to no avail. Only tonight realised that it seems time based from starting the engine and then fails until the engine is restarted.

I would really imagine there should be an ABS light given that it becomes unoperational.

Thanks,

John Banks

Error was 6910 ring gear wrong number of teeth, but the Bosch list of codes could not determine which wheel this was. I was advised that two different brands of tyre on the same axle could cause the problem - they were worn so I changed them, but no improvement.

A Citroen diagnostics machine plugged in gave 0910 as the error which is incoherent sensor signals.

Next step is to get 4 channel scope on it whilst driving. It seems that it is speed related, as soon as you go over say 60 mph once the ABS doesn't work again until the engine is restarted.

Tyre size is 205/55R16, OEM size is 205/60R15, but this is a Peugeot accessory wheel and the rolling circumference should be the same.
