PCV

Tell me again how I can get a factory PCV valve, if I should, and if getting it replaced at a quick lube place is not the best. I know they should be replaced often (I do them every year in the Fall but I think they are good for 2 or 3 years). Roy, snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

getting a pcv valve is easy. i just got one at autozone for about 3 bucks. and do not, i repeat do not get them replaced at a quick lube. one time they replaced mine and some guy who didnt know what he was doing broke the rubber elbow that connects the pcv valve. they didnt even tell me they broke it and all i heard was a loud whistling sound. i drove it back to them and they put tape around it. i finally fixed that by going to saturn and buying the rubber elbow with the pipe for about 5 bucks.

I believe the OP asked about getting a factory pcv valve. Anyway I still have my original one in my car. They do tend to clog in winter. When it does I just take it out and clean it with carb. cleaner. `97 SC2 w/48k miles
