Service Engine Soon light

Just got my 2001 300L wagon back from service at local Saturn dealer--complete service, etc. They turned off the "Service Engine Soon" light, but it came back on today only 4 days after complete service. Should I bring the car back to the Saturn service dept. over that little light, or should I shut it off myself (tell me, please, how to do so). Thanks a bunch! Joe

They turned off the light? Did they say why it was on? They must not have addressed the problem of why the light was on. I believe you can get it to turn off by disconnecting one of the battery cables for a time and then reconnect it. If the problem is still there the light will just come on again. Dan.

I had that 'service engine soon' light problem. Took it to my local trusted mechanic (NOT dealer) and he rapidly diagnosed it as a bad water temp sensor, the computer thought the engine was too cold. Pretty cheap & quick to replace.

You can't just turn it off, if it came back on they obviously didn't fix whatever it was that made it come on in the first place..
