$25 billion under bush $60 billion under obama

to save 55,000 jobs? [note: use of the word "added" is a technicality. old g.m. were dissolved. "new" g.m.'s re-staffing is classified as "added" when it's really a sideways - in fact downward - employment curve.]

let's do the math:

$85MMM / 55,000 = 1.5MM per job.

that stinks.

write your representatives. this ridiculous profigacy deserves punishment. especially as all g.m.'s projected "job growth" is slated for china, not the u.s.

50 billion or more and the loss of income taxes that the million jobs would have paid, and don?t forget all the businesses in the towns that have plants it could have sent the country into a deep depression. That?s the facts spin it like you will and keep making smart ass remarks etc.

when i hear all this bullshit about "but there were really 1.1 million jobs at stake", that's bullshit too. do they think all those auto repair shops are suddenly going to go out of business because they will now deal with frod, not chevy? and all those poor chevy auto dealers that also sell subaru, hyundai, kia, etc. poor guys, trying to scratch a living out of cars that sell vs. cars that don't...

Back in 2005 I was working for a Toyota dealer that sold to a BIG outfit from the Albany (NY) area. In order to buy the Toyota dealer, they also had to buy the Chrysler dealer, since Toyota was leasing the land and buildings from the owner of the Chrysler dealership.

The Chrysler guys thought they had it made, with such a big, well-known dealership behind them. I said, Stop the rejoicing guys...You ever hear of L** Ford, L** Chevrolet? No. L** Honda, L** Toyota, L** Hyundai, L** Nissan...it's been nice knowing you!

Took less than a year...

Back to the point, I think those 55K auto workers had it made! The battery maker Obama was at last month got schtupped! THose jobs were only worth $500,000 each...
