{OT} Air Compressor reviews

Pros: it can blow more air than a Democrat.

Cons: I didn't buy it sooner

Like most other guys, I have enough Craftsman hand tools to choke a horse. You don't buy them, you rent them. When you can return a 30 year old phillips head screwdriver and get a no-questions-asked replacement, for free, on the spot, you can't ...

I'll give some helpful advice: turn the compressor switch off when you are not using it or it will turn on and scare the daylights out of you when you least expect it, like when you're standing next to it with your head under the hood or when you're under the car, or trying to squeeze between the compressor and the car's bumper. #2 and #3 sons have a nasty habit of not turning it off when they're done using it, and it always kicks on when I least expect it!

I'm reminded of the ancient story of the fellow in bib overalls who brought a paper bag into Sears Roebuck and asked if it was true that Sears guaranteed everything forever. He was told "yes" and asked what he wanted to return for a replacement. He said it was a spare tire cover for his Model A Ford that had given poor service. "Yep" he said "I had a flat tire the other day and put on the spare tire....and that tire cover didn't even last half a mile!"

Considering my garage is RIGHT NEXT to my BEDROOM, I don't think this will be an issue!! ;)

Actually, since I started this thread, I should take the blame...

I just COULDN'T resist ;)

(NOTE: I would have posted it even if it had said, "...blows more air than a Republican!" ) ;)

I'm betting you'll wake up suddenly in the middle of the night (as I have on more than one occasion) and yell out, "WTF was that??!!?? Ha ha. I can't imagine getting along without an air compressor. They are really handy. Only one bit of advice: Realize its limitations. The kind most of us buy are fine for filling tires, running an impact or other wrench and so on but can't cut it when it comes to a DA sander, blaster or heavy painting. jor

I used to have a 10 gallon Sears air compressor that just worked and worked. No complaints at all. (That was when I was living in a house with a larger garage. Now I just have a little dinky one like this:

's ok, but the Sears one was much nicer.)
