1998 Chev 3500 CrewCab Vortec 7.4L

Engine sometimes floods when starting. Fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator have been replaced along with entire engine rebuild. Torque converter does not lock up until 110km per hour, loaded or not. Any suggestions on what to do?

Check engine temp sensor for ECM (not gage) because if it send a cold singal to ECM it will be over eich and delay converter lockup

Changed engine coolant temp sensor and nothing changed. After truck has sat for a few hours, it wants to flood when starting. No check engine light or trouble codes appear on scanner. Torque converter still not locking up when it is suppose to. Any other suggestions?

Are you sure there are not two coolant sensors? I'm not "up" on 98's, but a lot of older trucks have one sensor for the temp gage, and one for the ECM.

Has anyone ever had a problem with the throttle position sensor on these engines? If so do they just quit working or do they work intermitantly with no trouble codes? The engine still floods when starting and seems to run overly rich when running.I am reluctant to bring the truck into the local garage because they are notorious for just replacing parts until they find the problem costing alot of cash.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
