88 blazer 2.8-- how to loosen distributor?

thanks for any help



i want how to set the timing and know how-- BUT



i am not sure where to loosen the distributor.



i see one bolt , to the lower left (passenger side) at the base of the distrib. --this bolt (approx 1/2" head) has a small star head bolt threaded into it.



is this the distrib. hold down? and what it the "star head" for.



any help greatly appreciated

9/16th bolt head. From front of engine it will be on left side front of dist.

the hold-down is next to the distributor 'shaft' which goes down into the block, passengers side, 9/16 head

it's an intake manifold bolt

used to gain clearance for the vacuum advance
