Wrecked my truck tonight..

Well guys, just thought I'd let you know that I trashed my truck pretty badtonight..It was my fault, I turned in front of a 2003 Tahoe, but there was 2 trucksin front of me and they blocked me from seeing him at the stop light so ijust followed them around the turn and wham he hit me..I think he was speeding and on his cell phone.. but i dunno he had no timeto hit his brakes, no skid maks or anything..but he hit me hard enough, right in the front passangers side tire that itslid me almost all the way to the other side of the street and nearly layedme over on my side..both of us are ok, but that tahoe is totally messed up.. and the side of mytruck is gone.. whats funny is.. neither of our airbags went off..and he hit me doing 30 or 40mphWhat really sucks is I just had a steering gear, pump and 2 balls jointsfixed at $804 and also had a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T revos but on at$780. all in the last 2 days.. and it's all gone.. poof!Just something to remember,Life is very fragile, don't screw around and expect everything to be ok..b/c you never know when it's gonna end.. and it can end in a split second..You have to know that you life is right with God and that he is in control..I knowanyway, I hope I get keep the tires and go pull a few other things off thetruck like my took box and all that..so he goes my battel with insurance companies.. Already fighting with awarranty company whos insurance company went into liquaditionAdair

That crap is only used to scare off the common folk. They are legally responsible for anything that happens to your car under their care. Even those parking lots that issue a tag saying "We have NO responsible" get sued and lose. It could take a well written lawyer letter sent to the SOB's but the car owner will win.

No, I'm not a lawyer but have a good friend who is and have seen this same info on TV news shows. Legal letters scare people into coughing up when they realize it's cheaper to settle than fight it..ken

I completely agree. I am also not a Lawyer, but just the other day there was the exact same thing on Peoples Court. What came out of it was once a business or person takes a car into it's possession they are responsible. I live in Reno, NV. and one of the Casino's had three cars ripped off in a week and they had to pay off the people who lost their cars because one the Valet takes possession of the car it becomes a contract between the owner of the car and the establishment. They also had the same sign saying "they were not responsible for anything lost or stolen, up to and including damage to said vehicle". Like what was said in this person letter, you may have to have a Lawyer send a letter, but I doubt it would go farther than that. Good luck.
