I have a co-worker friend whose glovebox hinge is broken on one side and the dealer is going to charge him $850 to fix it!
I looked at it and I can see a small pin underneath that looks like it would have to be removed to replace that part. I tried to remove it, but it's in there pretty good and I didn't want to damage anything. I don't know how to get it out.
It looks like the inside of the glovebox would be replaced with both hinges that are molded onto it. I don't know why they would charge him so much to replace this part when I know it probably will take them 10 minutes, and the part probably doesn't cost a lot.
I have another friend that works at Autoland and could probably get me the part for cost, I just don't know how I would go about replacing it.
I just hate seeing this guy getting ripped off by the dealer.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
John
