A4 Air bag warning light

Anyone know how to turn this off. It has come on randomly for no reason. Don't really want to pay the garage =A3=A3=A3=A3=A3 to run a full diagnostic check then just flick a switch???

thanks

You could purchase your own scanner to check out the reason why the air bag light is on and possibly reset it yourself and save £££££ in the future with this tool. ;-)

Uh, no, it didn't come on for "no reason"... There was a reason and diagnostics will tell you the reason?

And do without the airbag, and have an accident, and die? All to save a few Dollars (Pounds, Euros, whatever...) Good sense!

Yup, fully agree. When the airbag light is on, ALL of the Safety Restraint System (SRS) components are disabled, including ALL airbags, ALL seat belt pretensioners, ALL active head restraints, and ALL electronic seat belt load limiters!

If you drive in the UK with the warning light illuminated, the BiB would probably throw the book at you, and your insurance would be void if you had an accident.

As others have stated, get the stored DTCs read, either at a main stealer, a Bosch or VAG independent, or find a mate with VAG-COM.

It is most likely the connector under the front seat, but do NOT fiddle with it when the ignition is switched on, nor turn on the ignition with it disconnected.
