Hi!
Whilst trying to chase down a "houling" noise, I found a noisy thingy between the fuel pump and the fuel line by the left rear wheel well. It looks like the pulsation damper (?) on the fuel rail up front...
The service manual doesn't show any there...

That's exactly what it is. Never seen ne on a 318i but they're not uncommon on other BMWs of that time period. About 40mm in diameter.
Yes, you are right. A local BMW mechanic said to get rid of it %-)
