BMW 528e alternator removal and replacement

i am a car owner that has little experience with DIY repair. i want to remove my alternator and replace it with a new one, but i need a step by step as to how. any help that can be given would be appreciated.

Why? Are the bearings shot? If it's just not making volts have you tried replacing just the regulator that's bolted on to the back of the alternator with 2 10mm nuts?

Agree, but why bother wasting money on the Haynes, the Bentley is FAR superior!

Probably, but the Haynes for a car this age can often be obtained for near free. And for someone who needs instructions on how to change an alternator more than adequate.
