E30 ignition lock broke. Now what?

Hi,


1985 318i and the key will not go into the lock, let alone turn. I don't see any procedure in the manual for this situation. Can anyone help? Do I need to call a car thief?

Found an old worn out key and it worked. Will leave it in until I replace the tumbler. Whew!
