e46: Air bag light issue

Oct 11, 2005 3 Replies

Hi,

I have a 2002 325i CPO purchased in the last 5 months. So far it's been a great car with 48,500 miles. The only issue I have is the air bag warning light. This is the second time it has come on whenever the seat is adjusted and reclined forward while the seat belt is buckled. I noticed this because my exgirlfriend and my other friend had to adjust the seat when they used the car.

The 1st time it came on, I took it to the dealer and they replaced the belt tensioner and reset the light. Since this is the second time, it is becoming a hassle. Are there any known issues with this? Also, if it comes on again, is there a simple way to reset this myself?? I'm planning to visit the dealer again soon.

Thanks, Bill P.S. Since the car is under CPO warranty, can I have another BMW indy specialist to do my inspection II?

Hi, can anyone shed some light on this??? I have not received a response,

Any help is appreciated.

If you want instant response, you have to pay. None of us (other than Brett who occasionally monitors the group) is paid. The airbag is a system that basically is dealer-only. Go to the dealer.

Thank you, I be more patient next time...sorry :-)
