The wipers work on the low and high settings but the intermittent setting doesn't. Moving the rolling adjuster does nothing. The vehicle is equipped with a rain sensor and this also does not work. Thanks in advance for any help.

The rain sensor models don't have a separate intermittent function - just different sensitivities for the rain sensor. Which isn't terribly linear in the way it sort of works.
Has the windscreen been replaced?
It certainly isn't linear! But it's better than the bad old days when we had to roll down the window, put out a hand and feel the windshield to ascertain if any rain was landing on it ;-)
