This light is not part of the anti thief light.some times it comes on when I use the brakes.

Just wondering since you obviously have no clue. It might help just a teeny tiny bit if you gave us even the vaguest hint of what year and model BMW you're asking about.
Oh - answer: It's the red light that comes on sometimes with the brakes.
