V8 oil pump bolts - known issue, a question

Aug 18, 2005 4 Replies

I know that oil pump bolts backing out on the M60 is an issue. Does the M62 3.5/4.4 have the same problem?

Was this a recall issue Jon? I've got a friend who's just recently bought a

1994 740iL M60 with 88k on it. Is there an easy way of checking other than dropping the sump?

No recall and no, you need to drop the pan. The good news is that its not hard to do. If you've changed your own oil before, you should easily be able to do this. There's good how to instructions here...

Thanks for the links. I'll be doing this on my 540i next oil change (which is soon).
