03' silverado 2wd lift

Well I plan to get a 6" lift for my truck(2wd), nothing drastic and I know its a 2wd, but I think it wouldnt look bad at all. So what are the drawbacks to gettin a lift, for example gas mileage, just want a second opinion thanks

Doing a lift on a 2wd truck is the thing to do these days for many reasons. A lot of 4WD lifted trucks are never used off road anyway, mainly for looks.

2WD Trucks are Cheaper, less things to go wrong, and Insurance is cheaper. Much Easier to Lift a 2WD then a 4WD.

Some of the drawbacks are, a little worse gas Mileage, Harder or the suspension parts. Cost. It's not just the Lift, but you'll also needs Wheels and tires to go along with it. Since it's a 6" lift, you may want some type of Step to help you get into the truck. Of course Car Washes are out of the question, Hand washing Requires a ladder. Little things like that. You might want to add a Dual Exhaust setup also if you haven't already. Possibly a new Grill(Bolt over or Cutout type).

Last week I did lift on a Chevy 1500 4WD, using a Rancho 6" lift kit. Along with Rancho Shocks and some Step Bars and Nice large 16" Wheel tire setup. Looked great when it was done and Aligned up good. The front was a Pain in the ass, and the rear was a little more work then there 4" lifts, but they make one of the good kits. I've seem some lift kits that were big piles of CRAP and thinking that truck belongs in a junk yard.

When you buy your lift kit, don't go buying the cheapest pile of crap you can find! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!
