1998 GMC Sonoma - How to adjust the Door?

I had a 1998 GMC Sonoma (ZQ8) with 3rd door option. How can you adust the main to front doors? I need to adust it vertically, not horizontally... for example... if you were standing on the passenger side, with the door closed, I need to make the adjustment to make the top of the door go IN and the bottom of the door come OUT. Is this possible?

Tx.

1) if you "HAD" the vehical.....then you don't have it now....so you the issue shouldn't be a concern, being as you no longer own it.

2) adjusting one vertically.......would not let the top go in....and the bottom come out. It would make the whole thing go up.

so.......

NO .....it's not possible.

hopefully we answered yer question.... and some you didn't ask.

I had a similar problem on a full-sized Dodge van

Body shop guy stuck a two by four in the bottom of the door as close to the hinge as possible and leaned on the upper corner, kept doing it till it closed properly

Brute force, but it works.........doors are really pretty flexible

The door closes fine, for now. I am worried about future problems coming from this, though...

NEVER use that stuff as a lubricant for any kind of bearing. It is suitable for ONLY threaded connections. Never Seize contains powdered metal, hence the metalic color. Would you put powdered metal in a bearing?

Just put some Never Seize on the hinge and that oughta take care of it.

Not to belabor the point, but I am going to throw my $.02 in here re:never-seize. I have worked as a millwright in the past and I always used never-seize on bolts and other fasteners. That is what it is made for. It is not meant to be a lubricant. If you have ever tried to close a 12 inch boiler manifold valve that has had never-seize on the threads you would understand what I am talking about. This is not a flame Joe, but the right lubricant for the particular job makes life a lot easier. JR

Right. Just like the muffin grease and the bearing lock tite. Have you ever seen the blinker fluid filler when you open the rear hatch on a Ferd explorer? Don't fergit your bumper fluid!
