88 k1500 drivetrain squeak.

My 4wd 1500 has started to squeak. It is something with the drive train. IT only happens when the truck is moving. It douds like it is coming from the cab back.

I jacked it up put it in neutral and spun the tires, nothing it was also raid and put into jear and nothing.

The only thing I noticed was a creak coming from the drive shaft. It seemed to come from the middle of the driveshaft and not the u-jounts? As far as I can tel the driveshaft has no moving parts. The yokes are welded on at each end. Is there something in there?

Top post!!!!! Ok You will probly not hear the U Joints squeeking unless they are really bad without ta load Drivetrain....What I think your hearing is the sound travling down the drive shaft..Try this put your truck in gear let it creep dont give it gas and have someone watch the driveshaft ..If you hear the squeek on revolution more than likely its your U Joints....Now if you only hear it at like driving speeds the poss could be your differental or transfercase....Best too start out with the U Joints...Being its an 88 when was the last time they were changed?
