i just purchased a 1989 chevy suburban 2500 silverado, when i was inspecting the underside i found a linkage type arm attached to the rear end just hanging, there appears to be some type of valve mounted on the frame close to the arm. does anyone have an idea what this is ??

height sensing porportioning valve for the brake system. Provides front to rear brake balancing in relation to the load in your vehical.
