Chevy S-10 pickup A/C question

I have a 1995 S-10 with the 2.2 engine . My a/c compressor froze up breaking the belt Can I bypass the A/c compressor useing a belt for a non A/C equipped one ?

I tried that on a different vehicle, and the non AC belt was a different size.
