"Clanking" Brakes

Nov 14, 2005 1 Replies

The rear brakes on my '01 Siverado clank (like the pads are releasing) after I start after a stop. The pads and rotors were replaced, but this was happening before then. Anyone else have this noise? Any help?

Sounds like your rear drive shaft spline is not telescoping or sticking....

It needs a $35 GM lube job OR $135 Nickel plated slip yoke...

Once per year the rear drive shaft spline should be greased

to improve flexibility of the rear suspension motion &

improve Ride quality... Best done every Spring..
