Removing Door Panel 98 Chevy

Oct 02, 2003 2 Replies

Hi. I was wondering if someone can tell me how to do this? Recently the inside door handle quit working. I'm pretty sure the rod just came unhooked from it. I'd like to fix it. Since it broke I've been putting the window down and using the outside door handle. I'm afraid of wearing out the p/w motor if I keep doing this. Also, as of today the act of putting the window up and down has resulted in opening my door because now the rod is catching it. This isn't cool on the highways. Then when I got home the power lock wouldn't move and felt forced when I did it manually.

I've tried Google for the answer and found none. Hoping someone here can help. Thanks

most likely the handle has worn out and needs a replacement. they are cheap and easy to get(like my x wife, lol) the door panels probably just need to be very carefully pryed up at the proper spots with a flat bar.

There are a few screws in your door panel.Remove the screws then you can pry it off.But since you have electric windows .You need to be carfull not to jerk the switch out.some of the switches have small leads to them.
