Removing glued on trim

The plastic "chrome" trim above the rubber strip is discolored and looks like, well you know, that brown toilet stuff.

What's the best way to remove the entire trim without pulling off the paint. Can it just be peeled off? And what about removing the glue residue?

Thanks in advance.

Get it at Home Depot or the hardware store.

It's sold at Walmart, also. It works great!

Thanks for the advice. I found out it peels right off. The rubbery double stick tape has to be peeled off too, (I've got the blisters to prove it) and the Goo-Gone and smoe stuff I had called "OOOPS" takes off the adhesive residue easily.

Thanks again.
