Shift Rite-transmission peformance harness...?

Feb 20, 2006 1 Replies

Was cleaning out an old file cabinet and ran across a brochure. Anybody remember these? The advertising made some nice claims, like:

Increases Performance(doesn't everything?)

Delays Torque Converter Lockup(I think it actually did this)

Simply Plugs in at the Transmission

Lifetime Warranty

Quicker in the 1/4 Mile(doesn't everything?)

Improves Acceleration(once again-doesn't everything?)

50 State Legal

Available for GM vehicles with the following transmissions/transaxles:700-R4(4L60),440-T4(4t60), 125C(3t40), 200-4 and 325-4LR

The pic shows what looks like two Molex plugs with a short piece of wire in between covered by some black plastic wiring protector.

Well they must not have been that successful-Google can't even find the company now(Automotion, Inc. Dayton Ohio 45449) and doesn't show a listing or even any info for the "device"(was once told it was essentially a resistor and not much else)

Just wondering if anybody knew anything about them-did anyone try it? Did they actually work and what happened to the company?

Thanks, Snuffy

============ ============ Snuff...... the only thing it could possibly have an affect on would be lock-up on those units, as the gear shifts are made hydraulically.

Sounds like the "snake oil" of the day...... kinda explains the google results aye....? lol

lifes too short to worry about what can't be googled
