Transmission

Hi there. Gary you reading this? I value your opinion and others as well of course.

I have 69000km on my 2000 GMC Sierra SLE 4X4. It is a daily driver. I never haul anything in the bed...only a 500lb snowmobile a couple of times in the past. The tranny fluid has never been changed. Everything works as always since new. No problems that I am aware of. Yesterday I called a local tranny shop(excellent reputation) for a price on a transmission fluid change. I also inquired about a auxiliary cooler. The price that they gave me was $335 taxes in (Canadian) for the tranny flush, cooler and installation...... So my questions are....

Do I really need a cooler ?? Is a tranny flush bad? Or do I just get a fluid/filter replacement? Is the price quoted good?

Thanks for your help, Glenn

Transmission flush probably not a good idea, transmission fluid and filter change is an excellent idea, transmission cooler is even a better idea. Cost is probably ok as that's probably about $175.00 American?

Brian

If thats the case that is cheap because it costs me $90 for filter and fluid to do my truck.
