TSB Info

Dec 26, 2004 2 Replies

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy and I have a "rattle" between 1800-2200 rpm. I found there is a TSB 03-06-01-024B for this very condition. Does anyone have the TSB information handy they can post for me. What I'm looking for is the fix and part info in the TSB itself. I hope I'm making myself clear as I'm not sure what all info is in these things.

My other concern is there going to be any problem if I just let this thing make the noise. If it is a durability issue I will fix it but I'm hoping that it is just an annoyance. Thanks in advance everyone.

As far as I can tell, (and I've performed a few of these repairs) it's just an annoyance. This is also quite a labour intensive job, in order to get the front cover off (which has to be replaced once it's been removed), you have to remove the oil pan, in order to get the oil pan down, you have to drop the front diff either out, or drop it down as far as you can, and then jack up the engine a bit...both of which are not real easy to do.

I believe we would charge somewhere in the neighbourhood of 12 hrs of labour to do this job if wasn't under warranty. If you've been real good to your local dealership, and you don't have too many miles on that truck, you might get them to fix it under a "goodwill" policy. If you are way over on the miles, and you haven't seen the inside of the dealership for any repairs other then warranty repairs, you may not get anything.
