Hello to all, I'am wiring my 98 Silverado for a R.V. trailer. Chevy provides an orange wire to the 7-way R.V. plug for the purpose of keeping the R.V. battery charged, the other end is under the hood and it has an eyelet installed on it. My question is; where do I connect this orange wire and is it supposed to be live when the key is off, any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You........Ed

Ed, That orange wire is normally connected to the aux fuse center under the hood, if you look at the rear side of it there are 2 terminals, they are fused but hot all the time, so be aware that it will kill your truck's battery if the RV is used long enough. Or, you could install a battery isolater under the hood to seperate the vehicle and camper batteries, so that killing the trailer battery won't kill the truck's. Any RV shop should be able to hook you up this way. Ed
