Fixing the windshield wiper on a '92 Grand Voyager

The passenger side wiper keeps stopping on the Passenger's side. The arm under the front cowl keeps falling off the splined shaft that connects it to the wiper arm. I have hammered it back on about 6 times, and it keeps falling off.

There is no way to thread it for a nut, or groove it for a C-clip, or even to shove a push nut on it. Is there some way to fix this thing without replacing the whole arm assy?

Replace the pivot is the only fix.

The recall was NHTSA 99V-189000 that covered the LEFT (driver's side) wiper pivot assembly. They probably didn't cover the passenger side because that side doesn't create as great a safety hazard if it stops working. But if your passenger side is bad, take it in for the driver's side under the recall, and hopefully they will fix the passenger side, too, for not "much" more, since they have it apart anyway.

The recall was only for the drivers side
