Having trouble removing fuel line from filter on a 92 New Yorker. One side is a rubber line with clamp...but the other side has a sort of collar, which I think is called a quick release fitting??..anyway. is there a way to get this off without buying a special tool? Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Every auto parts place sells a set of the cheep plastic collars for about 6 bucks. Coasty

Does "okay" mean you bought the tool? Cause if you did, you just shove it into the joint and it'll release. They work great.
Not always. If you have limited clearance to get at the joint then it can be a bitch to get these disconnected even using the cheap plastic tool.

the plastic collar but it should come in a set of multiple sizes.
