Fuel pump question for Neon '97

Does anyone know if a fuel pump off of a 2001 Plymouth Neon would also fit/work on a '97 Neon...?

for 97 the part number is 4798485 and for 2001 the part number is

5018704aa so they do not fit interchange is 96 97 only

You cannot base interchange answers on part number. Multiple part numbers for interchangeable items are *utterly* common in the Chrysler parts system, and have been for decades.
