Thanks to the advice on this site I think I have fixed the problem starting with my Grand Voyager. Basically when I "wiggle" the block connector at the rear of the dash I can either replicate or cure the symptoms mentioned in my previous post. This is a huge relief as we were on the verge of scrapping the car as our local dealer could not find the problem and reckoned we should scrap the car. However in attempting to fix the car one of the things I tried was to swap the Relay/ fuse box located next to the battery. This made no difference other than when the car did decide to run I no longer had the speedo or the gear select indicator functioning. It als appears that the cruise control may have gone the same way and the economy computer etc. I assume these run from the speedo in some way. If I do the error codes on the dash I get a 905. I' wondering if the new fuse holder had a faulty relay/ fuse or something. Any ideas and thanks again to all for their help? Cheers Mark

Its the red block which attaches directly to the instrument cluster / binnacle at the rear, as opposed to the blue block which attaches to the warning light strip. On the way home when the dash went dead I was able to feel for the block and give it a small nudge, whereupon the dash came back on, with the exception of the speedo, as mentioned in this thread. I was surprised to find that this problem was enough to immobilise the car and have spent the best part of £800 on parts and dealers to fix it. Their advice, last week was to scrap the car, as they were unable to identify the problem and felt that the only solution, would be five grands worth of loom!! Wires appear O.K. behind the splash panel. I have seen another thread on this site that suggests I may have a problem with my Output Speed sensor on the transmission. I tried to clean the old one of any metal particulates, (as dealers is now closed), but this hasn't had any effect. I'll try a new one tomorrow. Cheers Mark
