Static

About 10 days ago, it rained hard around here (Rhode Island). This followed a run thru the car wash.

Result was severe flooding in the passenger compartment -- A car pool.

This situation was posted to this news group and the responses were great -- I had the drain holes blown out.

A consequence of the water was the radio (including the clock) shorted out. This was fixed with a fuse change.

BUT I still have continuing static coming out of the right front speaker. It does not happen all the time but once it starts it does not let up.

I thought the water in the panels had dried up but that may not be the case. If it is this I need suggestions on how to go find it.

The second option is that the original blown fuse situation ruptured the harness somehow and this harness begins to interact with the frame. Again -- I have no idea how to diagnose this and suggestions will be appreciated.

If there are any other ideas please post them.

Thanks

Frank

I do not doubt your expertise but is this possible here -- the radio / speakers seem to work at first and intermittently thereafter?

Intermittent failures as heat builds during operation is common. Also common is cold related problems, where the equipment won't work correctly until there is a certain amount of heat built up.
