Capri 2L Laser. Yes, another one.Two owners, last owner 20 years. Full ford service history to 1993 then independant Ford specialist since then. Last service was a major one 6 weeks ago - been serviced every 6000 miles since new. 3" thick service history. Even though its got 174,000 on the clock and is on the original running gear, apart from unleaded valve seats, it drives like a dream and engine oil pressure is just slightly below that of my reconditioned engine when new. Boot full of spares and enough service items to last a decade. Interior is all original, seats are mint under the covers and the original stereo still works.Only downsides:The guy liked stickers and reflectors - the car was covered in them. They've all gone now. Oh and he liked red and yellow paint too. Drivers wing looks ropey although some of that is down to the fact he hammerited over repairs. He reckoned it is good for another 2 year which I think is about 3 years too optimistic. Passenger wing is saveable.Thankfully the guy loved covering everything in grease. There is grease absolutely everywhere. As a result,the brake pipes are the originals and even have the factory paint on them and the only rot is in the wing tips.Not sure where I'm going with it yet but at £500 with 11 1/2 month MOT and 3 months tax, it was a steal. So much for not getting another one...

'The same old s*it'....hmmmm.

I've had FWD, RWD, transaxle RWD, longitudunal FWD, inline 4, flat 4, carburettor, EFI, 8v, 16v, SOHC, DOHC, QOHC, tin top and ragtop. Diesel, petrol and hybrid. I've had 'British', Jap, German, and Italian.

Bikes may 'not count', but I've also had inline 4, V4, parallel twin, V twin, carburettor and EFI, both 2 and 4 stroke.

I've spannered and bodged stuff, I've used 15 year old cars as daily drivers. I've done 40k miles a year on 2 wheels.

That's more than enough, IMHO, to qualify me to comment in any NG with a leaning towards powered transport.

And, as it happens, I'm quite enjoying my hybrid experience, too - because I'm fairly open minded at times - I'd even have a Crapi, but it would have to be a 2.8i with LSD, not a wheezy pinto.

Don't see many of them around here. 150mph+ and 5.5sec 0-60mph is about the starting point for a proper car.

That's cool. I've got an iron block RWD longitudinal automatic diesel. It's probably as fast as your 75 and more economical than your 156, more comfy than either bike and bigger than the Prius. That's why I don't feel the need to mention it so often, it's a bit dull, but it doesn't need defending...

Its got every single receipt. Its been maintained by the same garage. There is nothing in there to indicate any breakdowns.

That won't stop it working though - it will just mean the fuel = consumption slowly increases to a point when it's worse than a standard = petrol engined car because of the extra weight

The early one I had on demo used more petrol than my 5 series BMW petrol auto on the motorway when being driven to 'keep up' with the traffic.

Not something Pious owners like to admit.

LOL. Had it up on a ramp today. Save the front wings, its rock solid. The front valance is fine as well where it bolts to the wings so I've nothing to worry about there.

How do you know? That could be a private plate, car could be on a D plate which would mean it *could* be a special. I think that colour was still used on the specials. I can't really remember tho, its a long time since I was interested in Capris.....despite learning to drive in a signal orange 3.0S with fishnet recaros!
