Has anyone information about any history of the Jensen CV8 in road racing or rally competition?
It is such a fast car, yet I am not aware of any! Please respond if you do, with as much detail as possible.
Whilst at it what about the Jensen 541 too?
Just discovered, having searched, that Mr Richard Lovell-Butt entered his Jensen CV8 to race at Silverstone on Sat 20 Feb 99. But I have no idea of how well he did!

I met RLB a few years ago when I had my Jensen Healey, he is a great bloke. He only races for the fun of it and his CV8 is an auto! He is the CV8 registrar of the Jensen Owner's Club and his details are on their site:

Right. I'm surprised they found a 'box to handle the torque in those days.
Maybe they didn't - which might explain the lack of numbers.

I guess the box came from the US with the engines but the engines weren't particularly hotted up. Like most Jensens, the CV8 was not aimed at competition; it was a "Gentlemen's Express" like the Interceptors which followed it. somebody spent a lot of time and money getting a Jensen Healey on the track a few years ago but it must be a labour of love; you must be able to get something quicker and more fun for a lot less hassle.
