This group is full of ignorant people who are to far up their own....

Some people who post to this group are happy in their ignorance, so bee it, how ever much they troll and mock it doesn't change the fact that they are ignorant of the real facts.

I know, they don't, it's no skin off my nose if they want to stay in ignorance.

No answer for the pillars being the division of windows, and the RX8's B-pillar trim then, Jerry?

Look at the shell, tell me were the pillars are, and no the doors are not the shell - they are (removable) body panels, even though they may contain structural elements.

The shell has no centre pillar, in the conventional sense, the next structural pillar back on the shell is the rear door mounting pillar, as I originally said "FWIW I know of only one (mass produced) car that truly shares a structural pillar (between front and rear door), and that is the Mazda RX8 , these are of a centre pillar-less design were the rear door locks into the sill and cant rail area and the front door then locks into the forward upright (pillar) of the rear door."

I bet if I ordered a RH 'B post' for a RX8 from a Mazda dealer they would ask me if I want the *rear outer 1/4 panel* or the *rear door* and not supply me with the forward edge of the rear door or it's locking mechanism...

How car manufactures describes things to the customer is not always

100 percent accurate, they often use simplistic terms that the average customer will understand, or what is in the manufactures interests.

Generally people don't consider the 'shell' when discussing a pillarless design - like, say, a pillarless coupe. Perhaps, not knowing about cars, you weren't aware of that ;)

Regardless. I see you have no answer for that, really, and want to have a bit of a squirm over semantics ;)

Which is in itself total nonsense. The structural pillar for the front door is the A-post. It only latches on the rear door's b-post structure. If the rear door is open the front door has no way of latching, but it's still attached to the car.

Why don't you order that, then, and let me know what arrives ;) Post is not pillar. Different things.

Mmmmhmmm. Or, perhaps you're just wrong, and the division between front and rear windows is a b-pillar, and that's why they sell a b-pillar trim. I expect the plastic interior trims on the doors along that pillar are also b-pillar trims, if not just referred to as 'trim'.

Still spewing your garbled yarblings, Jerry?

Nice to know you've still not learnt anything.

Continue to troll, you're making me laugh.

He also trolls occasionally on uk.rec.models.rail, where he has a similar reputation. Shame really, as when he drops the attitude he can actually be quite helpful from time to time. He just has this total inability to admit that just occasionally he might actually be wrong, and accept the fact gracefully without resorting to insults. Most people over there have "killfile'd" him. Badger.

Now, about those BLMC parts books that "prove" the one between the door is the B-C...?

Same on uk.tech.digital-tv, although not always helpful.
