Agreed.... no excuse for websites that look like this anymore.....Docbook was invented for people that have no time for fancy coding,and doc book looks better than his site I really sorry to say. A web server without PHP has lost it somwhere so no excuse for the dodgy Forums.

He is trying gain control over everything. What's wrong with this guy. If someone posts something on his website, he moves it because it doesn't "appease" him.

Whatever, it's better if we resort to "independant" usenet and the like.

He's got problems, let's just say that.

I don't like how he takes out personal vengeange by chasing after folks who pay have posted a 9000 post in a 900 page.

To those who are throwing derogatory/defamatory comments my way due to the fact I like Saab cars.... Yes I'm Australian (by birth - lived in Australia ever since the day I was conceived). I live in Sydney. So cross-posting to aus.cars and alt.autos.saab when talking about issues relating to saab cars, etc. is quite sensible, especially since the website(s) I've set up relating to Saab cars are aimed at helping the Australian Saab enthusiast community as well as the Saab enthusiast community world-wide!

Those people who want to post defamatory comments about the fact I like Saab's and 'dared' to post in a newsgroup which some people seem to believe is only here to talk about Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi, etc. cars are more than welcome to make direct contact with me via email. Otherwise shut your traps and let people living in Australia who want to talk about anything to do with cars in general do just that!

PS. I dislike Ford and Holden and Mitsubishi and Toyota, etc. cars, but I don't do the electronic equivalent of 'spitting' on them just because I prefer something different. I leave that for people who think there is something 'religiously offensive' about discussing something other than their 'sacred cow'... 8-)

It's more so the way it tthings like this SAAB WARS sh*t fight get SPAM posted to a general group, maybe we should start Xposting Magna threads to the alt.auto's.saab. To us this simply looks like you badmouthing his site for your sites benefit, and 100% useless to us non saab owners so we don't really GAS.

The only time you ever post anything to aus.cars it's saab related or Spam for your site, many of us do have other brand cars but don't push them on general groups like you do, if you actually participated in aus.cars you might be accepted. Then again this might just be a big troll and I've taken the bait.

He could well be. Note that since sometime this morning I've been unable to load pages from the Townsend Imports site too, but that's a fairly regular occurence. What's strange is that the error message is a 146 (connection refused) error, not something related to the server being inaccessible due to network issues.

Tom's site does seem to be inextricably supportive of saabnet sound there might be a connection. 8-)

Sounds like a conspiracy theory. This Saabnet thing could be getting completely out of hand. Scott could be getting all of the people associated with his site against yours or something, who knows.

He really has a "griphold" on a lot of sites, uncluding his whatever monitoring of alt.autos.saab

I HATE this GUY. He is the type of person that basically monopolizes everything that most feel obliged to "like" him out of FORCE. That's not good.

Once we can remove ourselves from everthing Saabnet, etc the better.

Let's try and wrap up this thread. We know what to do now. :)

See? That's what I mean. Replace one site with another, and you can expect exactly that. Craig, you're a great guy, your site rocks, but when you die or lose interest, it's all -whiff- gone into the ether. Usenet and google archives are, for all practical purposes, forever. While a site is great for discussion and Q&A, so is Usenet. And the fact is, Usenet is more constant than any website can possibly be, just by nature of the beast.

As Linus Torvalds has said (paraphrasing here) - Don't back up your data, upload it to Usenet and it gets archived everywhere.
