Chump:

I've been around this group longer than you've learned how to type. That's #1.

#2, I didn't send any e-mail or anything as Steve stated.

#3, I've probably forgotten more than you know. Drop the 'tude and move on.

Jason:

A couple of ways to find this.

1) Go to any yard that has the Hollander system, easily found. If you can't find the interchanges, e-mail me and I'll tell you what's exact for this. Specify what options on the column you have (delay, tilt, cruise w/ or w/o resume, tranny option, etc) and I'll get you the Hollander # and information.

2) Put a request on

and you'll get more hits than you can imagine.

Hope that helps. Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 143k and still going....

You have no idea how Cydog works, eh?

From:

snipped-for-privacy@mm.html "W32.HLLW.Cydog@mm is a mass-mailing worm that spreads by email. This worm uses Microsoft Outlook to send itself to the contacts in the Outlook Address Book:

The email will have a random subject chosen from a predetermined selection. The attachment will have a random file name chosen from a predetermined selection, with a file extension of .exe or .scr."

In plain English, the only way the OP would have gotten that virus is if the infected PC has both Bigjfig's and his e-mail addy in it's addy book.

Read up on the virus here. It was not him.

that is the *only* way? - you clearly show that you do not know how cydog or a computer works.... eh?

or.............. if Bigjfig's computer was infected and he had the OP's addy... there is but 1 other way as opposed to your *only* way - your scenario is not the only one... but i digress... i never said he actually DID send anything... did i.

so easily worked up ;)

Nah...actually you obviously HAVENT been on Usenet long, otherwise you would understand why NOI, GLK and I are laughing our asses off at you and your lame trolling.

Oh...and BTW...if Joe DID have the worm, it would not use HIS e-mail addy as one that is used when it takes over....sigh...thats lesson #2, BTW... Lesson #3 is we dont care.. Lesson #4 is that you need to print this out....CLUE.....that way, next time you are asked, you can proudly state you have one....

NOI....how did things go the other night after you and Mike got that network up and running? Havent had a chance to talk since..

You obviously don't know what I do for a living....or that the link I included is what Norton's says Cydog does...

Not really, but I noticed that I sucked you into replying to me. Interesting, eh?

d00d, tracert is your friend. :) Remember our convo last Sat?

As far as the network goes, it was up and fine until w2k server decided to corrupt a dll and deregister around 25 others. the gang at MS had no clue what to do since it appeared active directory was hosed....but it wasn't since the laptop, also a 2k server was able to replicate everything. So, 7 hours later, it was fixed and still is.

I got home at 1:00pm today. Mike got back 5 minutes ago...no lie....He just called.

And Monday there will be a revolt against the sales guys. :)

David McNally spilled my beer when they jumped on the table and proclaimed in

In a nutshell? Computers spewing virus laden e-mails are a threat to all of us, even those of us running Linux. Why? Simple. There are plenty of computer illiterate people out there that would purposely click on a virus link or attachment while not running AV, a firewall, or even having their system patched in any way...just waiting for their PC to get infected.

Then there's the bandwidth issue. A major virus/worm, like the one that attacked MS SQL machines a few years ago or Blaster/variants, can slow the net down quite a bit which personally, irritates me :)

So, when I get a virus laden e-mail, I find out where it came from and notify their ISP. Most of them now will knock a user offline until they get cleaned up. It's kind of like calling the cops when you see some kids blowing up the mailbox a few houses down. :)

Only to pinpoint where a problem is on my network, or just for S&G on usenet. :)

OK. I'll check it later today.
