Window Problem 92 Camaro

I have a 1992 Camaro RS with power windows. I encountered a problem today. The window went down and did not want to go back up. I finally got it up. Now the window will still go down, however it will not go up. When the window is all the way up and the switch is pressed to the up position I hear a machine gun sound coming from the door. Any ideas????

sounds like the rivets that hold the motor to the door have come loose. I'd take the door panel off and you should be able to see what's a matter. Sounds like the motor itself is fine.

If you can actually get the window, with helping it, to stay up...then its not the rivets. I'm willing to bet that your window regulator motor has gone bad. Replacing it is not fun. (I've done it before.) Just don't forget to secure the regulator assembly, by drilling a hole through the window regulator assembly and the sector gear then placing a bolt though the hole. There is a counter balance spring that is very strong. So if you just take out the motor, without securing the sector gear, then the counterbalance spring will unwind inside the door and you will have to take out the entire assembly to put the spring back into position.
