the tailgate window on 92 4runner wont go down and i cant open the gate unless the window is down. i press the button to raise the window and you hear a sound, but if you press the switch to lower the window you hear nothing. how can get the window to go down.
I would start by checkimg the window switch. If it works in the up position and not the down position it could be just a bad switch.
Try the key and the dash switch.
when mine did that had to replace channels ($45), motor (400),& regulator (160) + labour hope thats not your problem!
Switches or channels most likely culprits depending if you live in snow belt or sunny area.
