'94EB No Start / no Check Engine light

Jul 26, 2004 1 Replies

Hello all!

My '94 EB has lately gotten cantankerous - if parked on a hot day, it will often refuse to restart for up to an hour or so. It cranks over well, and electricals (radio, etc.) work too. However, the "check engine" light doesn't come on when it's like this and I don't hear the fuel pump running either.

If I wait until the light (and pump) come back, it fires right up.

Jiggling the ignition switch has no effect. I have the Haynes manual but that doesn't have detailed enough information to do much.

Suggestions from those in the know? Many thanks!!!

Check the fuel pump relay in the power distribution box under the hood. whack it with a screwdriver or replace it with the blower relay next to it and see if it will start.
