99 XLT brakes squeal w/o applying brakes

Last year I replaced my original front pads with Bendix brand. I did not cut the rotors since they were in good shape. During the last couple of months, my brakes have been squealing while driving. When I step on the brakes , the squealing stops. I checked my calipers for sticking, and they were fine. I swapped the inboard and outboard pads on each side, and the noise went away for a week, but then returned. I applied brake quiet compound to the pads, but that did not help either. I'm ready to try the Motorcraft pads to see if that solves the problem since I do not believe it's the rotors. I would appreciate any input. Thanks

There was a problem with the front axle seals on the '99. Mine started squealing while still in warranty and Ford replaced the seals. Never had another problem.

I had the same problem with the seals. I got that fixed. In that situation, the squealing noise would occur regardless if you had your foot on the brake or not. The problem I have is related to the brakes
