The site has detailed pictures of the whole process to fix your display and also details on different scenarios you may run into while doing the repair. It worked for me. It does costs, but you'll more than save the fee in the time you'll spend poking around your radio.
You can buy a nice replacement radio at the electronics stores (like Best Buy or Circuit City), however, if you have the steering wheel controls or rear seat controls, you'll be out of luck with those operations with a replacement radio. The web site repair was a nice alternative to my dealer's $600 replacement cost.

On a 1999 Ford Explorer, the radio does not display the time or the radio station frequency. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
The radio works -- both the am and fm stations come in clear -- and the CD player and cassatte players works well, too. However, the time and radio station display is not illumanated. All the fuses are OK.
Any and all replies would certainly be appreciated.
