I will be sitting in park and everything will seem to be fine. As soon as I put it in drive the my 99 explorer starts to shake. It does it in reverse as well. The vehicle is not rolling so it is not the tires. Also when tring to excelerate sometimes it tends to sputter. I dont trust the dealerships and It is still under warranty. Ive heard many horrer stories about the transmission problems with these. any insight would be extremely helpful. Thanks

Well, as long as the mileage and engine size are a secret and, if you're willing to take advice from one of those dealership bandits... I'd suggest a codes scan and possibly an ignition tune up (plugs and wires) and, if necessary, further diagnostics. You an spend your time worrying about horror stories or you can get the car fixed.
Most problems arise when people drive the things until they wont move rather than fixing problems when they are still small..... ask my son....
"still under warranty"? wth
I had a problem similiar to yours and I took it to the dealer. Turned out it was a defective ignition coil spark pack. They had the right equipment to diagnose the problem. Do yourself a favor and bring it to the dealer. Not all dealer shops are bad. I've had a pleasant experience with my dealer
