I have an 02 Mountaineer that thinks a door is always ajar. When driving it says Door Ajar and when you park and shut the vehicle off the interior lights stay on. None of the doors don't have any visible buttons that notify the vehicle that a door is open. Does anyone know what is going on or if there is a simple fix? Thanks, Ken

Ford likes to hide the switch in the door latch itself. Usual fix is to spray WD40 or similar inside the latch, then open and close the door a bunch of times to work it and and hopefully loosen the stuck switch.
One of the door switches is sticking becasue of contamination. The usual fix is to spray the latch mecahanism in the edge of the door with WD-40. You need to really soak it. You are trying to wash the contamination out of the mechanism.
