96 Exp door that blends cool/warm air to achieve temperature set only works to cool when set to 60 degrees, as soon as you try to go up with the temp the door swing wide open and you get all hoot air. In winter it is at max heat (90 degrees) no matter what temp you set, any suggestion on fixing without replacing $1400 heater unit the dealer suggests? Thanks for any help...

If the door is operated by a cable, and not a vacuum motor, the cable can be adjusted at he blend door. On older Fords it's done by opening the door wide, then adjusting the position of the clip on the cable.
